What We Offer

Landscaping: What's Included

  • Landscape Design & Installation

Beds, plants and materials laid out around your home's style, sun and soil, then installed as one complete design.

  • Planting Beds & Shrubs

New beds shaped and filled with improved soil, then planted with shrubs, perennials and grasses spaced for their full-grown size.

  • Mulch & Decorative Stone Beds

Fresh mulch for a clean finish, or river rock and decorative stone along driveways, downspouts and side yards for less upkeep.

  • Arborvitae & Privacy Plantings

Evergreen screens along fences, pools and property lines, with the variety and spacing chosen so the row fills in without crowding.

  • Sod & New Lawn Installation

Bare or rutted ground cleared, graded and prepared with topsoil, then finished with sod or seed for a strong start.

  • Artificial Turf Installation

Synthetic grass over a compacted stone base for shady corners, pet areas and play spaces where real grass struggles.

  • Edging, Retaining-Wall Beds & Paver Accents

Edging that keeps mulch in and grass out, plus raised retaining-wall garden beds and paver walkway accents that tie the yard together.

  • Bed Cleanups, Renovations & Soil Handling

Overgrown beds cleared and replanted, with the equipment to move topsoil, fill, stone and mulch on larger projects.

Planning Around Your Soil, Sun and Slope

Plants do best in ground that suits them, so every landscaping job starts with a close look at your yard. We check how quickly the soil drains, how much sun each bed gets, where water collects after rain and whether compacted ground or old construction fill sits under the surface. Then we loosen and improve the soil before anything is planted, so roots can spread instead of struggling.

Yards vary a lot across South Jersey. Properties near the Pinelands in Browns Mills, Waterford Works and Hammonton tend to have very sandy, acidic soil that dries out quickly, while lots in Pitman, Wenonah and Runnemede often mix sandy loam with slower-draining spots. Low ground near creeks can stay soggy for days after a storm.

Slopes need a plan too. Heavy downpours can wash mulch and topsoil off a bank and onto the walk or driveway, so we shape beds and choose materials that stay put.

  • Grading beds and lawns so water flows away from the house
  • Setting edging and pavers on a compacted base to resist frost heave
  • Using stone instead of mulch where runoff keeps washing beds out

Plants and Privacy Screens That Fit Your Yard

The right plant in the right spot means less pruning and replacing later. We weigh sun and shade, full-grown size, distance from walkways and the house, and how much upkeep you want. Hardy natives such as inkberry holly, bayberry and switchgrass handle sandy soil and summer heat well, and they pair nicely with flowering shrubs and perennials.

Arborvitae are a popular privacy choice along pools, patios and property lines. The right variety and spacing is what separates a full green wall from a row of thin, browning trees.

  • Narrow varieties such as Emerald Green suit tight side yards and can be planted closer together.
  • Green Giant grows much taller and wider, so it needs more room between plants and from fences.
  • Where deer are common, some varieties get browsed more than others.
  • A mulched bed along the row keeps mowers and trimmers away from the trunks.

New Lawn or Artificial Turf: Choosing What Works

A healthy new lawn starts below the surface. We clear debris, loosen compacted ground, add topsoil where needed and grade so water drains away from your home, then finish with sod or seed. In sunny South Jersey yards, tall fescue blends are a common pick because they cope with summer heat and dry spells better than many cool-season grasses.

Artificial turf makes sense where real grass keeps failing, such as deep shade, dog runs, play areas and strips that are hard to mow. Performance depends on what goes underneath, so we excavate, add a weed barrier and a compacted crushed-stone base, and pitch it so rain drains through instead of pooling.

  • Sod: a finished lawn right away, but it needs steady watering while it roots.
  • Seed: fills in gradually and does best when sown in the right season.
  • Artificial turf: no mowing or watering and great for shade and pets, but it can get warm in full sun.

FAQ

Landscaping Questions

Answers to common questions from South Jersey homeowners. Don't see yours? Give us a call.

What landscaping services do you offer?

We handle landscape design and installation from start to finish: planting beds and shrubs, mulch and decorative stone, arborvitae privacy screens, grading and soil prep, sod and new lawns, and artificial turf. We also build edging, retaining-wall garden beds and paver walkway accents, and we have the equipment to move soil and stone for bigger jobs.

Do you offer custom landscape designs?

Yes. Every plan is built around your property, preferences and budget. We look at sun, shade, soil, slopes and how you use the yard, then recommend plants and materials that fit. You can adjust the plan before work begins, and the consultation and estimate are free.

How long does a landscaping project take?

It depends on the size and scope. Refreshing one bed is very different from a full backyard with grading, new sod and a privacy screen, and weather and plant availability play a part too. We give you a clear schedule before work starts and keep you posted if rain changes it.

When is the best time to plant in South Jersey?

Early fall is ideal for most trees, shrubs and cool-season grass seed, since the soil is still warm and the air is cooler. Spring works well too. Summer planting is possible with careful watering, and sod can go down through most of the growing season if it gets enough water.

My yard stays wet. Can you still landscape it?

Yes, but the water problem should be fixed first, or new plants and sod can rot or wash out. Our NDS-certified drainage contractors can regrade low spots or install French drains and channel drains, so the landscaping goes in on ground that drains properly. Drainage site inspections are free.

Can you help care for my landscape after installation?

Yes. When the job is done, we explain how to water and care for your new plants, sod or turf. New plantings in sandy South Jersey soil usually need steady watering through their first season. If you want help later with bed cleanups or fresh mulch, just ask.
